What else can I do to keep my dog from destroying bedding I put in his kennel?

I have an 15 month old lab/pit mix baby and he loves to chew on everything. He has bones, ropes, and other chew toys around at all times. He's torn up 4 dog beds, 5 comforters, and a carpet when he's in his kennel. I'm out of ideas. I've tried the bitter sprays (he licks those like a lollipop), rawhides, bones, everything I can think of that he can chew on besides his bedding. I'm at wit's end and out of money from constantly buying something to put in his kenel. Any suggestions would be highly valued. Thanks

Most dogs love their kennel just like it is, without any bedding. Just like they prefer tile to carpet since it is cooler. I assume you are using a crate inside. Dogs should not be left unattended outdoors.

The dog is in the crate when you are not there. You cannot control his action when you are not there. Punishment after the fact is not advisable and confuses the dog. All he knows is when Mom/Dad comes home they are mad at me. He doesn't know what he did. Dogs live in the present. If you don't catch him in the act, it is too late to punish him. And NEVER hit the puppy. That is a good way to get them hand shy. A "NO" or "Don't" with a mean voice may be all you need.

The crate should be large enough for the dog to stand up and turn around. You don't need bedding on the floor of a plastic tray. Hopefully you don't have your dogs outdoors in a large kennel with a concrete floor, If so I feel sorry for the dog.
