My dog has gotten into some dark chocolate. what to do?

ponychick

About 4 hours ago, my 42 pound lab/boston/bull terrier mix got into some dark chocolate covered blueberries/Acai berries. you know, the ones you get from Costco. Anyway, my little brother left them on the floor and she got into them for maybe a minute, she had spilled them under the couch so she had trouble getting to them. she hasnt thrown up or had diarrhea , shes was her normal crazy self and now shes sleeping in her crate. is there anything i should be worried about? I feel like if she hasnt puked or something already shes probably fine... I just wanted to see what others thought. No rude comments please.
I have googled it but i cant find anything about dark chocolate. and yeah i know what to and what not to feed them, this dog is just kind of a crazy. they dont get anything besides dogfood and treats from me, and whatever they eat out of my horses stalls, like the beet pulp . ( its actually part of alot of dog foods... no worries there)

Answer
Well, I'm not an expert but I've had dogs before. My dachshund once ate a whole load of Easter chocolate and she was a bit sick but came out of it fine (she is a mad dog, seriously strange). Though, it depends on the dog. I also have a lab and they eat anything they can get their eyes on- pips, sweet potatoes, thongs, laptop styluses...

Unfortunately both acai berries and dark chocolate are quite bad for dogs and if your dog has any symptoms of sickness then you should contact your vet. Generally, a big dog like yours wont have too much trouble, though it's always best to contact a vet.

Someone asked the exact same question and got some decent answers, so try that as well- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110706004122AA7hUm5

Argh how can i get my dogs to stop causing so much trouble!Q?

This past week, 2 of my 3 dogs(the other one did not want to get into trouble) have been really bad. They've eaten a whole pack of denta-bones(costco sized), a loaf of bread, my journal from when I was little, and countless pairs of underwear. This is all when we are not home. Today when I got home, I left my old dog max's(who is a good dog) food bowl on the counter. I was on the computer, then I hear a CRASH. I realilzed that my dogs jumpd up on the counter to grab the dish with the food in it.
How can I stop them from being so evil?
They chew so much.
And don't say, they're just dogs, since they know better.
Sorry If i seem mean, I'm just in a really bad mood.
actually it wasn't there all day long, sorry, i misworded that one
I brought it out for my old dog for dinner, but he didn't want it, so i [ut it on the counter
I have a 7 month old standard poodle, who is too big for her kennel, but my 4 month old corgi-scottish terrier mix loves her kennel(aka my poodle's old kennel!)
And also, I always lock my door, but the poodle rams into my door, and she opens it

Smile'''Snicker'''Grin~~lmao~~Aaah, sorry, I just have one of my 3 dogs that pulls crap like that..only she tries her best to act like her sis or baby bro did it!! And to top it off, remember the movie Turner & Hooch? She's a smart-arsed version of Hooch, same breed, a Dogue de Bordeaux!! They ARE SNEAKY and CONNIVING!! Oh the joys she puts me through and she knows better too. I have done EVERYTHING..honest..bitter apple..anything I can possibly find that she hates the smell and taste of..HaHa..jokes on ME!! I will not put her in a crate..(I hate being in a cage..I felt caged when married to my EX) she's a (normally)loyal family member and I will not do that to them..Like me....I think you're the one with the problem..yup, they DO KNOW BETTER and so do we..just tell yourself "This too shall pass" and most importantly, "God grant me the SANITY ..I'll wait for the serenity..just keep my Fur-faces happy and healthy" Good luck to you..I know my 3 are going to need it right NOW..Shaaaaaat...not again..gotta go!!
EDIT..Oh JAYSUS..I read alot of your responses..I'm horrified..You're just grumpy, I get that way too..ignore most responses above me..yikes!!
