What song would you sing from your birth year.
I was born in 1968 so I pulled up on the internet top 100 songs of 1968 and I would pick 17. Harper Valley P.T.A., Jeannie C. Riley

concussion likely or not? -sort of long details of the past days?

Brandon

thursday-
was biking downtown to see if I could find any friends. thought I could cross the street fast enough to beat the red light. It was the car's turn to go, got hit, fell down, arm caught on bike seat, went level with the ground, hit the cement but no pain in my head, got up, went to the side of the road with bike, knees were scratched up, giddy and high on adrenaline, felt fine, knees stung a bit. While standing at one point vision went white and slight ringing in my right ear. Was a bit off balance. Thought it was from the adrenaline. A tad trouble remembering details of home information but not much more than usual.
-went to a friends', sat on their couch with ice packs, they didn't think I had a concussion because I could remember everything. I had slurring of words and poor phrasing, tad trouble figuring out what to do for cutting vegetables, clear the food on the other, or use the table. Finally asked for another cutting board.
-thought I hadn't seen their dog between puppy age and grown, then realized that was wrong. I had seen the dog a few times between.
-We had dinner, started getting a light head ache, it moved to the front of my head (frontal lobe), before was in the back, kept returning to couch because of dizziness but didn't say anything except for asking for a pain killer. started worrying about going to sleep. Head felt a tad bit sore.
-Got a ride home, took two more pain killers, head ache finally went away, went to go to bed, felt sick, head ache returned a tad, slept ok- a bit light

Friday:
-woke up, another sick wave and urge to puke, spent the day relaxing with ice
packs, had trouble cracking eggs well and sort of ate egg shells, lol. Had ice cream for dinner. when trying to eat I felt sick with some head ache, went to bed, felt sick and head ache.
-off balance going down the dark hallway and didn't realize it until I got to the door when I was leaning heavily towards the second door.

Saturday:
-went to the saturday market thinking i'd be fine. Didn't recognize someone's face- they looked like a stranger but I knew I knew them. I almost never forget faces) I knew them by my name being called out (their voice mostly, that's how I knew where I knew them from without really thinking about it).
-Hung out with a friend but kept getting dizzy, light headed and feeling more sick the more I walked. The friend finally got me to call my dad. I left a message saying I was feeling sick and light headed or had a head ache (not sure anymore). But I didn't want to go home because I was functioning almost fully. If I hadn't gotten sick or light headed or the friend pressuring me to call family, I wouldn't have bothered at all and kept going like nothing was wrong.
-Food scents were making me feel sick and hungry at the same time. Noise made me feel queasy as well. Kept having to stop and lay down in the grass. Several times I felt like I was going to pass out due to light headedness, feeling sick or trying to breath deeply and calmly. Head felt sore at times.
-rested enough to attend a dance. Some sick feelings, rested a bit though.

Sunday: seemed fine, went home after eating some but got full easy and didn't want to upset my stomach by eating too much.
-since thursday almost constantly asking things over and over again to double check because my head was foggy on details of plans or not understanding what people are asking for. Phrasing things strangely and mixing up words. Asking easy to answer questions as clarifications to details of plans to make sure I have it right and then getting confused.
-constantly forgetting I asked things already.
-couldn't remember what i'd eaten before heading out thursday, took 5-10 minutes to remember faintly i'd made the pizza i'd been staring at while trying to figure it out. Even now I get confused on when I ate the pizza. Sometime between wednesday and friday.
Head felt sore at times.
-dad talked to me, thinks i'm a hypocondriac and saying things for attention. doesn't take me seriously because i say i'm worried but am "running around normally".

Today: Monday: seem fine. Still forgetting thins that were said earlier. Friends keep telling me I already said that and I have no memories of saying it. still getting light head aches.
-got tired at 9:59pm. O_O I'm never tired this early.
the part of my head that hit the ground was the back left side on the upper corner area. the part that keeps getting these light head aches is the frontal lobe and above the eyes. some pressure in the nose area as if it were sinuses but i don't think they are.
family won't take me to see a doctor due to money concerns and they think i'm a hypocondriac.. -_- its so stupid.
thanks metomn, that was very helpful information and i did wear a helmet that day. :)

Answer
You likely have a mild-moderate concussion- type 2 would be my guess. It sounds as though your brain, when you fell, struck the front portion of your skull which is why the majority of your pain is now centered toward the front despite hitting the back, left quadrant against the ground. It may also be possible that when you were in your accident, your brain hit your skull hard enough to cause a leak in brain fluid. A decrease in fluid around the brain would also explain/lend to why you're getting dizzier when you stand as well as why you're having increased nausea. To maintain food intake while minimizing nausea, try eating the B.R.A.T. diet (bananas, plain rice, applesauce, toast) for the next 2-3 days. While it might not fill you up as much, it will provide you with much needed nutrients while calming your stomach. You'll want to avoid loud noises, bright/flashing lights, and further injury to your head and neck for about a week until the symptoms begin to dissipate. Maintain the recommended dosage of an over the counter prescription pain killer such as ibuprofen/motrin or aspirin. Try not to take too much Tylenol if that's all you have as that will often upset your stomach more and potentially cause other issues. Keep up on your fluid intake by drinking lots of water but in slow, steady sips. If you don't begin to feel better or your symptoms don't improve within 5-7 days, it would be a good idea to seek medical attention. If you don't have a doctor or money is tight, you can always go to the ER and talk to a case manager or someone in billing who should be able to either set up a payment plan or use a donation-funded account to cover some or all of your costs. If you were in a crosswalk when you got hit, had police involved, and you got the person's insurance info, it might be a good idea to be seeking medical care through their insurance as part of an accident claim. Most importantly, this is why it's so crucial to wear a helmet. Granted, your supposed adrenaline rush aided in protecting you from more harm, but nothing protects better than a good helmet....even if they don't always look so "cool." Good luck to you!
