Can anyone give me some info how can I choose the right transport dog crate for my dog ?

Answer
Choose a crate that is 1 1/2 times the length of your dog when fully grown. Your dog should be able to stand up, turn around and lie down in the crate comfortably. If it's for a puppy, a partition should be placed so that she has 1 1/2 times her length to move around. Some crates come with a divider panel that can be adjusted to the different growth stages. If you prefer, you can choose one without dividers and make your own out of something indestructible, such as plywood.

Size the crate according to your dog's breed. The following is a good guide: Extra small: Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Shih Tzu Small: Boston Terrier, Jack Russell, Yorkie, Maltese Medium: Cairn Terrier, Cocker Spaniel, Llasa Apso, Dachshund Large: Basset Hound, Bulldog, Welsh Corgi, Shar-Pei XLarge: Chow, Collie, Dalmation XXLarge: German Shepherd, Greyhound, Golden/Labrador Retriever

What are some items that a pigeon should have in it's cage?

He is currently in a 4' x 1 1/2' metal dog crate, lined with newspapers. It has water and food, and there are towels covering the cage at night, but specifically what food should we give him and what other items should be available?

Answer
I have a pigeon that was a rescue and is blind in one eye. I bought her a large ferret cage that has 2 loft like platforms in it. I took one out and left one near the top. This is where her food and water are as well as a blanket that she uses to lay eggs on. Then on the bottom I have lined with newspaper and have additional water and food. I also have a nest box for her to go in or just step up or lay on. I have a rock perch and a wood perch for her also. I also hung a few small toys for her. She comes out often to fly in one room only that is bird safe and she baths outside of cage and I mist her. She eats a speical seed mix for doves and pigeons available at pet stores and loves safflower seed and black oil sunflower seeds as well as raw nuts. Also needs grit to help digest seed. I get medium size grit like for parrots and some crushed oyster shell as well for the calcium. I also ordered pigeon grit on line for her and give that on and off. She is not as fond of that. I cover cage half way at night so she feels safe and is warm enough. Hope this helped some.
