Ideal dimensions of dog crate for Jack Russell Terriers?

Looking into buying a Vari Kennel Dog Crate and they have two options:
Size 1 (S): L 53 x W 41 x H 38 cm (L 20", W 16", H 15")
Size 2 (M): L 71 x W 52 x H 55 cm (L 28", 20.5", H 22")

Is the S to small for a full grown Jack Russell?

It depends on the size of your dog. I think that the crate is supposed to be big enough for them to stand up in and one and a half times the length of the dog. Good luck!

Where are some great hikes I can take my dogs on in/near San Francisco?

I will be taking my dogs (and my husband) on a weekend trip to San Francisco, and we'll have some time to kill in the mornings. Where can we hike that is dog-friendly and not just on the streets/sidewalks of the city? We like being in nature, so any woodsy areas would appeal to us. Thanks!

Here are some suggestions.

NOTE: Non-service animals may ride on transit vehicles during non-commute hours. Avoid 5-9 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. on weekdays. Leashes and muzzles are required for larger dogs. Containers or crates are sufficient for smaller ones.

Golden Gate Park. San Francisco's version of Central Park. You'll see lots of people walking their dogs in the morning. Despite the large spaces and woodsy surroundings, however, this is a fully urban environment. The expectation is you'll clean up after your dog and keep it under control at all times.

Bus: 5, 16, 18, 28, 29, 44, 71

Dolores Park. Small and urban. Not much space to roam and the rules are strict. But it is also fairly popular with dog owners. Excellent views of the skyline.

Alamo Square. Same as above.

Lake Merced and Fort Funston. Near the San Francisco Zoo. Nice semi-wild park near the beach. Very dog friendly.

Glen Canyon Park. Definitely off the beaten track as well. Quieter than most San Francisco parks. Also very dog friendly.

Golden Gate National Recreation Area (in Marin County). This is the largest urban national park in the country. Lots of hiking opportunities. You'll probably see deer, rabbits, racoons, and skunks. And maybe a hawk or coyote. Numerous forests, meadows, beaches, streams, etc.

Bus: 76 Limited (Sundays and Holidays only)
