My dog's legs went out, because one of her disk slipped in her lower back. The only way they will be better is if I find the right specialist. I don't want the surgery to be expensive or i will have to go with the other alternitive, putting her to sleep.
Answer
You either need a board certified veterinary neurologist/srugeon, or a veterinary surgeon preferable specializing in orthopedics. Unfortunately the surgery is expensive and can run anywhere from $2000-4000 dollars. The reason for this expense is before the surgery is performed several tests have to be performed. X-rays have to be taken of the back to localize the disc and also a special test called a CT may be needed. Some clinics offer what is called Care Credit which is where you apply for credit so you can pay monthly payments for the surgery.
