i wont to pee pad train my dog and crate train. help pls.?

Heather

i have a 11 week old puppy (believed to be pomeranian mix) that i am trying to pee pad train, she goes on the pee pad once and then shes done with it for the rest of the day. i even change the pee pad so its clean but she will use my floor as a bathroom and ive ran out of ideas. when she uses the pee pad i always give her a treat and tell her "that makes mommy happy" and "very good girl" but its like shes saying "wait until later". i mop everyday with bleach and water so it kills the sent in the floor (i don't have carpet). Im also trying to crate train her, i will put her in it and put a treat in it so she sees its not going to hurt her and there's nothen to be scared of, (the crate is 6inches longer then her so she would have room but not enough to pee and stay out of it) i would like her to sleep in it at night since she is not fully house broke but at night she barks and wines and i get less sleep until i give in and get her out. i have her next to the bed so she can see im right there. i wont her to know im the human shes the dog, i make the rules and shes to follow them but i need tips on whats right for discipline and whats wrong ways of punishment. please someone give me advice....thanks
i did try the outside training as well, EVERY 2hours DAY and NIGHT, she thinks its play time outside, during the day we do stay outside alot. then she comes in to use my house as a bathroom. not to be mean but im asking for tips and advise not insults or smart comments, if its worth 2points then go do it on someone else questions. and the crate is good for her as well, it gives her some alone time to relax. dogs have stress too. its not a babysitter. alot of owners put there puppys in crates at night until they are housebroke or when they leave there home ect.

Do you mean want?

Why are you trying to train her to pee inside? You are experiencing one of the largest problems that people who potty pad train see - the dogs learn to pee everywhere and anywhere.

I get that you want the dog caged at night, but if it's just because you haven't housebroken her, then it's time to start setting your alarm clock and letting the dog out regularly, especially if she hates the crate. Some dogs just hate the crate and there is no reason to force them to be in it, especially if the reason is because you are too lazy to get up and let her out. Crates are dens, not babysitters and not magical potty training boxes.

What your dog needs for correction depends on your dog. All my dog needs is a "no" or an "uh-uh". Other dogs can literally handle getting kicked in the butt to wake them up. If you don't know how to correct your dog, or you view that you have to punish and discipline the dog, you need the help of a good trainer who has worked with all types of dogs. A German Shepherd trainer isn't going to be able to help you here, but someone who knows how to adapt to the specific dog is what you need.

Sign up for some puppy classes immediately (as soon as her shots are complete) so that both you learn what's expected in your partnership.

Good Luck.

+ Well, it appears that you don't actually want honest help. Since "lots of people" beat their dogs, perhaps this is an option? Hey, it's not my house that's covered with p!ss and $h|t, so that's right, what the hell do I know?

If the dog thinks that outside time is playtime, then you leash the dog, walk her, and dont come back in or play until she's gone potty. If every 2 hours isn't working, then you go out every 30 minutes.

I'm trying to figure out how if the dog is screaming in the crate, it's "alone time for her to relax". Utter nonsense.

If you feel that my original answer was rude, then you may also need the help of a shrink as you clearly can't take help even when asking for it. You seem to have some sort of persecution complex and some sort of complex where the whole world is wrong except you. Why bother asking for help if all you want is someone to tell you not to give up on what you are doing?

Dog training?

I have a Boxer pup.. She is only 9 weeks old.. We have had her for 1 week... This is my first time training a dog to use the bathroom in the house in her designated area.. And i am having a real problem with her, one time she will use the piddle pad and the next she won't.. We take her out side when we can... I guess my real question is do you all have any tips? Could us taking her outside to use the bathroom then turning around and bringing her inside be causing her to have a conflict ? Please help? I have tried to reward her when she does use the pad.. But then 5 minutes later she's using it on the floor...?!
We want her to be an inside dog... And right now we live in an appartment complex.. and we really are not supposed to have her... We are lookin for a new place with a yard..

I hate puppy pads. If you want your dog to learn to go OUTSIDE then take her outside. I would research crate training, it's the best method of potty training as well as giving the dog a safe place to go when shes tired or scared. It can help you keep the dog from destroying your house, and a boxer puppy WILL destroy your house if left out. Go get a crate, it needs to be large enough for her to stand up, turn around and lie down in comfortable but no bigger, if there is room for her to potty and still lie down, she will. Keep her in the crate when your not watching her. Take her out when you wake up, after she eats, after she drinks, after she plays, before bed and every hour or two in between. When you take her outside, don't let her play before she goes potty, if she gets distracted, pick her up set her back down and tell her to go. When she goes, make a HUGE deal about it let her know she's a good girl. If she's outside for 10mins and doesn't go, take her back inside and put her back in the crate for 20 mins. If you can stick to this for a few days or a week, she will eventually get it. If she's 9 wks old she can hold it for about 2 hours. If she has an accident, don't scold her, rub her nose in it or punish her in any way. If you CATCH her doing it, pick her up, tell her NO firmly and carry her outside. Even if you get peed on. Another word on training. There is nothing wrong with telling a dog no. Punishment is after the dog has done something wrong. When a dog does something they forget it almost immediately, so punishing her (after she's done something) will confuse her and scare her, she won't connect the action with your reaction. Correction is when you catch them in the act and CORRECT the behavior, if you catch her chewing, you say NO and take the shoe away, replacing it with one of HER toys. Correction works better than punishment because the dog was interrupted during the behavior. Interruption sends the dog the message that what they're doing at that moment is not allowed. Girl, I would get her into some training classes, not all boxers are that calm dignified dog in the dog shows and pictures, shes gonna be a handfull so I would start early!

Even if you live in an apartment you can let her out onto the porch or out into the lawn with the same effects. If your not going to do SOMETHING your not going to have any luck training her.
