Q. I saw a gorgeous Golden Retriever, but it doesn't live in my state. We want to buy it, but we don't know how to get it to our home. Do we fly it? "Mail it"? How? Best answer gets 10 points!

you can try air transportation. it costs a fee but you can afford it. what they do is they take the dog and feed/water/bathe him, and put him and a crate. they ship him from (ex:NY to NJ) and you have to go and put up the dog, and when your outside you can go and interact with him =) hope this helped. and yes you want to fly him.

What do animal shelters provide when you adopt a pet?
Q. I'm going bright and early tommorrow morning to adopt a dog from north shore animal league:)...the only thing is i live in NJ. Do they provide a crate? leash? collar? Just wondering...

Way to go! I hope you have many happy, healthy years together!
I think they'll give you enough to get you and your new BFF through a day or 2, but you'll more than likely need to take a trip to your local pet shop. (that's one of the best parts of getting a new pet - shopping for it!)
I'm assuming that if they do provide a leash it won't be a very strong one. Same goes for the collar. But you're going to a major animal rescue so who knows? You might get some great stuff.
If I may suggest, start off with the very best quality food you can afford. Human grade ingredients, organic (if possible).
It's an investment in your pet's health that will pay off every day of it's life.
