Answer
While a dog crate can be used fine for a rabbit, have you considered making a cage out of shelving cubes? They can be incredibly cheap to buy, and a fairly roomy cage can cost as little as 20$ if you shop around to find the lowest prices. They are easy to dismantle, can be made to whatever shape and size you want and take up a lot less room than a giant dog crate if you ever decide to bring your rabbit back outside for the summer.

Answer
If there is a PetStock store near you they will have crates for sale. If you look on www.dogzonline.com.au they have a classified listing for all dog stuff including crates. You could try Pure Breeds dog shop or Pet Network both based in Victoria. There are usually dog show supply seller at shows in Melbourne on most weekends, ring Dogs Vic and they can tell you where shows are being held this weekend. Good luck.

Few questions on my 6/7 month old staffy puppy?

I have recently got a 6/7 month old staff 10 days ago, So far I think she is learning very fast. she listens most of the time.

I bought her from Gumtree, the previous owner said she has had all her injections as a puppy. and wont need them for another 6 months.

I thought I would ask a few questions if you would be able to answer them for me?.

1 - How can I tell if my puppy needs more injections

2 - do you know any training tips to help me

3 - do I need to know anything else.

4 - How do I calm her down she is very giddy and she jumps up trying like lick us and she bites our clothes and obviously I tell her NO but she still very giddy.

5 - What's the best way to teach her NO to biting. she doesn't bite nasty its just more of a playing thing.

So far she is excellent, I let her off lead on field and she comes back and I play with her quite often but she gets too giddy and she doesn't get off a playing toy even when told NO.

I live in the UK and don't have money for puppie lessons before anyone states**
Best answer will get 10 points

ALSO HOW DO I GET HER TO STOP BARKING AT PEOPLE!!
@Izzy, I haven't got any papers as they didnt have any, I will try that trick with the barking thank you.

With those kinds of dogs training is KEY!

You do not need to pay for classes. Go online and get pointers. Youtube, google, and look up Caesar Millan training. Make sure you are consistent and firm. Keep them on a regular schedule. Train her while she is young because she may be harder as she matures.

Hyper activeness- Make sure she is exercised 2-3 hours a day. I suggest buying a doggy treadmill. These dogs have an abundance of energy plus they are "work" dogs. You have to keep them BUSY! walk them, run them, keep them occupied ALL DAY!! OR you will regret it. A dog that is not exercised properly will act out, eat, and scratch things they shouldnt etc.

Barking - With the barking it could be anything. It took my dog months before he quit barking. Could get a bark collar (I never had one though), or she is telling you she wants attention. These dogs are very loyal and protective so best bet is just to put her in another room or out side when company comes over.

Also I suggest you crate train her. It would be heart wrenching for a while, but would prove wise in the end. Call it home every time you take her to it. so you can train her to go in the future. Put her in the room where the family is most of the time.

Biting- I held my pup snout clothes and said NO BITING! Some may disagree with my methods but it worked for me and my pit.

Injections- If you did not get papers on her vaccinations and rabies- go get her RE-Vaccinated just in case.

Jumping on people - IGNORE!! She is looking for attention. Do not encourage this behavior.

** Extra- I quit buying toys for my dog. I give him empty plastic soda bottles (top removed) . He went through toys like it was nothing! The bottles last longer! LOL!
Also soft music helps soothe them.

Hope this helped. Just do some research on line on training and you will do fine. Remember use short phrases.
