Does anyone know where I can get a dog crate that will fit my car?

I have a 2007 fiesta, but I can't seem to find a dog crate that will fit in the boot without lowering the rear seats. The dog crate needs to at least fit my cocker spaniel and be about 30" length or more. The only ones I can find are just a tiny bit too deep for the length. Does anyone know where I can get one that will fit or get one custom made?

The crate that I have for my dog can be taken apart and put back together quite easily, and it's just a basic crate.
But if your'e looking for a crate for the dog to be in while driving...I'd try one made out of material, so its more flexible.

I have a 85 lb. Rottweiller and a sedan. What is the best way to protect the inside of the car?

This dog gets very excited when he sees another dog or if someone gets near the car. I use to have a Jeep and a dog crate when I took him out for a ride. Now I drive a volvo sedan that is in excellent condition. I am afraid the seats and doors will soon be scratched and torn by his nails.

Get a dog creat that you can put in your back seat. A dog taxi crate can be put together in your car. Or you can take the back seat out, but that is taking it too far.

Where do you put a dog crate in a car?

When transporting a puppy in carrier crate (Plastic with metal gate) where do you put it inside a car? The front passenger seat, or the back seats? And also how do you secure the carrier crate safely into the car?

It is your choice as to where to put it.
You should be able to secure it in place with the seat belts.

I am a firm believer in crate training. Not only does it offer our dogs a safe and secure place all their own, but -in my opinion- it speeds up housebreaking and keeps furkids from getting into trouble/mischief. Also, it is quite apparent at the hospital which dogs are used to crating, the dogs are a lot less anxious and a lot less stressed, there is a HUGE difference.

Many people don't realize just how important it is to get their dogs comfortable with crates. Your dog will be crated at vet offices, boarding facilities, doggie daycares, and they SHOULD be crated while traveling in a car.

As puppies I crate train until they prove to me they have earned the right to the family room. Even though my two current dogs are now technically "out of their crates", I do still crate them on a regular basis to keep them comfortable with the idea and I do always leave the crates out at all times. I cannot tell you how many times I have found my dogs either napping or chewing their bones in their crates. It is all about making crates a POSITIVE experience.
