Soft Dog Crate that Exceeds 33in in Height?

Hi, I have an English Mastiff and his current crate which is 33in is starting to be too small for him. His head rubs and his back rubs. Id prefer the cloth instead of wire because its lighter for me to carry and more portable. Can anyone help me find a portable/soft crate that is around 33-54in in height?

You mentioned that your dog's crate was starting to get too small so I am assuming he is not fully grown. The largest soft-sided dog crate I have seen was 36" inches tall. The tallest wire crate is also 36". May I suggest a soft sided dog exercise pen which is lightweight and portable at 48" tall. Good luck in your search.

I'm looking to purchase a wire crate instead of a plastic Pet Porter type because my dog likes to break the doors on them. I was instructed that wire crates are less restricting, and much sturdier.

I am purchasing from Wal-Mart because that's the only local store that carries decently priced crates, and I'm not prepared to pay shipping on a kennel that is going to cost a fortune to ship to Alaska.

How large of a dog would you say a kennel this size would hold? It's 36x24x27

They show a larger dog in the kennel, but the 36 inches seems small, a bit misleading I guess? And they don't sell an extra large (not sure why)...

What height of ex pen should I get for a German Shepherd puppy?

Getting an 8 week old GS puppy soon and wondering about the height of the ex pen...36 inches okay, or does it need to be taller? I'm just using it in the house when we're home to keep the puppy in it's own little space. Thanks.

36 inches (3 feet) will be perfect for an 8 week old German Shepherd puppy. However, that puppy is going to grow very fast and will be able to climb a 36 in. x-pen with no doubt. 48 inches (4 feet) would be best if you are planning to use it as she gets older and much larger.

Another idea, which I highly suggest to people, is to crate train. Dogs are den animals. A crate will provide your puppy with a place of his own. When a puppy is left home alone or is not able to be watched 100% then he should be crated for his own safety. Personally, I would never use anything but a crate. My oldest German Shepherd (3 years) is now trusted to be allowed to roam the kitchen when we are gone. My other German Shepherd (1 year) is still too much of a puppy to be completely trusted and she is still crated while we are gone. Neither of them need to be crated at night anymore. My youngest absolutely *loves* her crate and lays in there on her own multiple times per day.

The down side to an x-pen is that once the puppy grows into a full size German Shepherd, he will easily be able to jump up on the x-pen, move it around, and knock it over. As long as you are home, I don't see a problem with it because you can keep an eye on him. I would not leave him in the x-pen while you are gone though. I suggest hitting two birds with one stone and just buying a crate.

I want to buy my German Shepherd puppy (she's 4 months old) a dog bed, but one that will be big enough for her when she's full grown. She's in a crate for the time being, because she's still being potty trained (she still has a few accidents now and then), but once she's trained, she won't be in a crate (we'll just be putting a bed down where her crate is). Her crate is 30" long, but quickly getting too small for her. I just want to know how long they get, from snout to rump/base of tail. Does anyone know what the average size is?

German Shepherds are a large-breed dog which generally are between 55 and 65 centimeters (22 and 26 in) at the withers and weigh between 22 and 40 kilograms (49 and 88 lb). That's the technical....I just measured my girl and she is about 35 inches long. I would get your dog a bed that fits up to 48 inches so that your best friend is nice and comfy! Good Luck! P.S. Both my dogs have beds called Snuggle Balls, or Slumber Balls. They love them and the outsides zip off so I can wash them! :)

When does a Jindo dog stop growing?

I have an 8 month old Jindo puppy and she is currently 18 inches tall and about 28 pounds. I have read that they should stop growing around 6 months but she still seems to be growing (height and weight). Also, she still hasn't had her first heat, which seems weird. I believe her mom was 38 pounds and her dad was 43 pounds, but I'm not sure how tall they were.

If you have a Jindo, can you please let me know what kind of growth pattern they had as a puppy both in terms of weight and height? This will be useful because my Jindo barely fits into her crate right now and I'm trying to decide if I should move up a size.

I don't know exactly when they stop growing but here are the average sizes.
Height: Males: 18 - 25 inches (48-65 cm.) Females: 16 - 22 inches (41-58 cm.)
Weight: Males: 35 - 50 pounds (16-23 kg) Females: 25 - 40 pounds (11-18 kg.)

what size crate for golden retriever?

I'm about to buy a soft crate for my dogs agility classes. I was wondering what size is good. She isn't a huge golden, she weighs about 60 lbs. There are 2 sizes:
36 inches L x 24 inches W x 27 inches H
42 inches L x 28 inches W x 31 inches H
I will be moving this around a lot so I would go for the smaller one but I want her to be comfy. Thanks!

If it were up to USDA, the dog would have to have enough room to invite over all of his friends, have a BBQ, go for jog, play some frisbee, and have about 5 area codes. Here's reality:

They are nice because the 2 doors allow you to put in right next to a wall, and they fold when not in use. Also, the Midwest brand come with a divider panel to go in the crate, making it smaller, and easier to potty train with. Good Luck!

My new 8 week old puppy won't eat anything?

I just got a puppy yesterday. He is a Cavoodle (Calvalier King Charles x Poodle) and he won't eat anything that we put infront of him. We contacted the breeder we got him from and went out and bought the same food he had there but he still doesn't eat it. How do I get him to eat, or is there something wrong with him? Occasionally he eats out of my hand, but not from the bowl, so this is hard because we have to actually try and physically feed him and we can't do that because we're not home all the time. Thanks!

Whenever you get a new puppy, you need to take the puppy to the vet within 24-48 hours of getting him, to make sure that he is healthy! The puppy has just been taken away from it's mom and litttermates and put into a new, unfamiliar environment! He's scared, confused, he does not know you yet and he's unsure of what's going on. It's going to take a while for him to trust you and get adjusted to everything. Give him some time! Start training and socializing him early! Keep a schedule! Crate Training is something you may want to consider! If he's healthy, he will eat when he gets hungry enough, but again, make sure you take him to the vet and have him checked. Make sure that he's drinking water, so he doesn't get dehydrated.
