dog crate pads image

So my dog is having a hematoma drained tomorrow and surgery is required. The vet said it will be really messy after because they leave a spot open so ot can drain. So we bought a medium sized dog crate. Any ideas on what I should put on the bottom the crate that I can change out. Should I just use towels are do they make stuff for this?
Answer
Put something soft and familiar like his fav blanket or bed and then put a wee wee training pad onto and just change that out. Towels will work as well but may not be as comforting to the dog.
Hope your furry baby feels better soon and heals quickly!

How do I get rid of dog urine smell from her crate, blanket, mats?

My dog, who is completely house broken, still has what I call 'excitement' pee accidents. She's crated while we're at work, but if there's noise from our neighbors upstairs, she'll get excited or scared so she may pee a little, or this is what we think.
Anyways, the worst part is the smell. We use a deodorizing spray to wipe the crate weekly and wash her crate pad and blanket weekly. But I've noticed that isn't helping anymore. I'll wash everything and still notice a lingering pee smell. The more her crate and mad smells like pee, the more she'll think it's ok to pee there.
What are some cleaning or washing tips to get rid of the smell?
Answer
I see Jordan uses the same stuff I do :) Odo-Ban... it is great stuff
safe for use in washing machine (do not use detergent with it.. you will get too much foaminess)
and, because it can have residue.. rinse twice
if this is a plastic crate floor cover in a wire crate... make sure you completely wash the crate (outside with a hose... odo-ban & a car wash brush.. make sure you rinse well) & get a new plastic floor cover
if this is a plastic crate, ditch the crate & get a new one
