Temaris
We've had her since December 2012 and she has not yet eaten any household objects she shouldn't, so I don't know what to expect from this. She's 2 and a half years old and weighs ~16 lbs (tibetan spaniel/jack russell terrier cross). After I fed her breakfast she disappeared into the living room for a few minutes and when I entered she was sulking in her crate-bed; only when I inspected did I find the tinfoil coverings of three sweet scented votive tea candles. The wrappings were chewed (but not eaten) and her breath smells like the candles so it's obvious she ate all of them. I have placed a call to the vet; however can you give me any advice or anecdotes pertaining to this issue? I can't say if they were organic/natural candles as we've had them for forever. Also, is this a lot for a dog her size to ingest? She's healthy and doesn't have any digestive problems we know about, but my biggest concern is her size compared to the volume of wax. To be as clear as possible, this is the size of candle she ate, and she ate three of them.

Is some vomiting and/or diarrhea the worst I should expect? This won't kill her or cause any serious damage, will it? I know dogs generally have stomachs of steel but she's the first dog I have owned and I can't help but worry. You could say I'm a novice in this area of pet care.
I forgot to add- any symptoms or signs I should be watching for?
Answer
I'm going to refrain from telling you to get a match ...[g]
They are only TEA Lights, ( I was more concerned, until I saw the pic) so that isn't a huge amount for a 16 lb dog. You can probably expect some "speckled" poop in the future, depending on the candle color. Or perhaps an amount of throwing up, but I suspect she'll just pass the pieces.
I wouldn't worry or be concerned too much (which does nothing anyway) you already have a call into the Vet. :)

icrate question (certain brand of a dog crate)?
I just bought a crate for my new puppy, but have no idea what this one hook is for. Can anyone help? Here is the picture....it is the hook on the right that you see just hanging there

Answer
When you fold up the crate that hook holds it together so it doesn't flop around when you're carrying it.
