Answer
Hi, I would recommend the following:

- Go ice skating at Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center or Central Park
- Go sledding in Central Park
- Flushing Meadows Corona Park Pool & Rink â they have an 110,000-square-foot Olympic-sized indoor public pool, the largest in NYC
- Powerplay rock-climbing center in Brooklyn
- Play tennis at the Bridgeview Racquet and Fitness Club â Itâs a 100,000-square-foot white tennis dome that houses eight indoor courts, a pro tennis shop, and a full-service gym for $35 per month.
- Riverdale Equestrian Center â just 30 minutes north of Manhattan. Learn how to horseback ride inside.
- Go to the New York Aquarium in Brooklyn
- Go to the New York Botanical Gardens in Queens â they are free
- Take a tour of the Brooklyn Brewery
- Bedford Avenue Flea Market in Williamsburg Brooklyn â located inside a 3,000-square-foot building
- Go to the Brooklyn Flea Market â itâs open year round
- New York Spa Castle in Flushing, Queens. For $35, youâll get unlimited access to a foot and body massage pool, Hinoki Bath, sauna, indoor, outdoor, and kiddie pools, and an aqua bar.
- Get access to a steam room, sauna and indoor poolâfor just $10 at The Grace Hotel in Times Square
- Take cooking lessons at the Brooklyn Kitchen. Most courses are only $25-$50.

- The David Rubenstein Auditorium at the Lincoln Center has free performances throughout the winter
- See a performance of the The Nutcracker at the New York City Ballet
- Go to the Winter Antiques Show at the Park Avenue Armory
- Spend a day at FAO Schwartz on Central Park South or Toys R Us in Times square

Pure Black German Shepherds?

Wild Dog

After MUCH consideration I have decided I want a GSD. I have decided, also, that I'd like the dog to be all black, since the breed comes in that variation.

I have heard rumors that this is a rarer color. I don't really care about that, I just like the way it looks as compared to the regular black and tan. Will I have to pay more for one?

I live in the Pennsylvania area, I'm willing to travel. I've looked at petfinder.com and one there has interested me and I've E-mailed the foundation, but I am still browzing. Anyone know any GOOD, REPUTABLE breeders? I am -NOT- against taking a mix if it shares the phenotypical and mental/psychological stature of a GSD.

Any other information would also be appreciated. = )
First answerer: You are incorrect. GSD purebreds may come monochromatic black.
GetEmGang, read the question before you respond. That seems to be a problem with you. I said I would accept a mutt under particular conditions, one of which is if at the time of purchase there is no option for a purebreed. The mutt must also meet the phenotypical standards (of a GSD) and the relative tempermant of the breed fairly accuratly.

You are proving to be a very ignorant person.

Also, do yourself a favor and learn to type coherently.

Answer
this is what the AKC and CKC Breed standard says about color>
Color
The German Shepherd Dog varies in color, and most colors are permissible. Strong rich colors are preferred. Pale, washed-out colors and blues or livers are serious faults. A white dog must be disqualified.

So, please ignore the ones who tell you it is not a proper color.
