Is it safe for a dog to be on a 5 hour flight?

I am planning to go from Los Angeles to NYC and I want to bring my 4 month old Maltese puppy. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Just because, recently she got her immunization shot and had an allergic reaction and went into anaphylaxis shock, and almost died.

So I just want to make sure that flying is going to be safe for her. Will she be okay? I'm so paranoid!!!

Thousands of dogs arrive from Europe every year. They are often in the crate for over 24 hours. I'd say she'll be fine.

I live in an apartment in NYC, i work from 9-6. How many times a day would i have to take a dog outside?
I plan on getting a jack russel terrier

if you are gone that long i would say get another dog because a jack russel needs a lot of training you probally still would need to walk the dog at once before you left maybe twice after you got home.

also please get the dog a crate it has saved my apartment from my dog who is a big baby lab/boxer mix and i also live in an apartment

to the ones who say little dogs can't hold is not true my dad and stepmom have a year old Chihuahua and he can hold it for 8 hours they let them out when they leave and when they come home he has had a few accident when he first was learning but little dogs can hold it. not chatting making a point
