isnt shooting dogs illegal. my mother's boss has a 5 year old golden retriever that he bought when the dog was a pup. and he bought it to replace his champion hunting dog. well things didnt work out with magnum so now he is just a house pet. and he uses tanner for hunting still. but magnum has developed a serious case of seperation anxiety. he sleeps in a kennel at night and tears it apart and freaks out at night. and he gets out and destroys their house. so my mom's boss said he is going to take him out back and shoot him instead of taking him to one of the many no kill shelters in the city. we have like 3. so my question is isnt it illegal to shoot a dog in the state of minnesota. and if so what is the punishment if he does it. i am trying to save this dog at all costs believe me. but if i dont make it in time what is the highest punishment he can get. the dog is in perfect health so its not suffering at all.
right now i am trying to make plans with this guy so i can go in and train his dog for him. he never trained him properly and that is part of the problem. he thinks that if he hits the dog it will obey him. so i am trying to get him to let me train him. i have trained 2 dogs before and they r really good dogs now.
the thing is i cant take him. if i were to just go to this guy's house and steal his dog i could go to jail for theft. so thats not an option. i either have to train the dog myself, get him to turn the dog over, or adopt the dog myself. although his wife is really loving to the dog and loves him a lot so he does still have a chance. this really helps me a lot so. i will get justice for this dog. whether he dies or not. i will not let this dog die. and if it does happen that he does then i will get his owner. regardless of what he can do to my mom. he isnt in total control of who is hired and fired.

Here is a link to the statutes:

I haven't read it yet, so I'm not sure.

ADD:
Here is an excerpt to another link:

From what I would interpret, it would be illegal and a substantial fine with jail/prison time.

Cats and road trip situation here?

Speeding J

I'm unemployed for months and just got out of college so my savings isn't as much as before. I have two sick cats with diarrhea problem that lasted for 2 months and one of them kept pooping and peeing in my and roommate's closets and I always wash them with nature's miracle when i saw spots under strong UV light. His poop looks like clear snot on top of diarrhea blob. He leaks wet poo sometimes. I took him to vet and they're not helping and drain lot of my money for nothing. My aunt offered me for a free vet care by my uncle because he's the manager of his vet hospital and he's a vet. I live in Minneapolis, MN and they live in Joplin, MO which will be 9 hours drive. Is it a good idea to have my two cats in my boyfriend's dog's very large kennel with litter box in it during the trip and stop every 3 hours to check on them and give them breaks? It's better than giving up the most sick cat, wasting ton of money on vet, and my apt is starting to smell like landfill. Advices?!

Answer
You could put the cats in the dog crate with a littler box. Put an old blanket in the crate too for them to lay on. I have traveled with my 14 year old female a few times. She did great being on the road for a long time.

This is what I did before I set out. I filled a few small soda bottles with water and put them in the freezer for 24 hours before my trip. I put a few cans of food in the cooler along with the frozen water bottles. I kept a tupperware container with dry food in it. I kept some paper plates, a fork and a bowl for her water in a bag. I picked up one of those disposable litter pans and kept that in the trunk.

I would stop every few hours and let her drink and get her to eat a little. She was very good about going in the litter box too.

Just try to make pit stops every 3 to 4 hours so you can tend to your kitties. I hope every thing works out and I hope they start feeling better very soon.
