I'm going out of town and my little 6 pound puppy is going with me what can I give him to help him sleep on the plane he is going under my seat so he won't bother everybody he is 4 months old? benadryl?? if so could I give him a whole one.? like the little pink ones?? he is never been on a plane for an whenever I put him in carrier he barks and throws a fit I just don't want him to do that on the plane .. I'm hoping I can get him something to help him sleep so there won't be any problems on the way there... can I give melatonin to help? just anything to help him sleep the way there it's harmless to the dog I don't want to harm my precious angel.

you should check with the airline you are using to see if they even allow sedated pets ... one of the last times i traveled with may dog, the airline employees thought my dog was sedated and i had to take him out and walk him around to show that he was not ... and if your dog is super anxious about being in the crate, no benadryl or melatonin is going to make any difference ... you should get the dog used to the crate ... put in a t-shirt you have worn and spend increasing time carrying the dog around the house, make it fun, like a game ... increase the time slowly spent in the crate and even take outside and carry around the block ... and also know if your dog is making a commotion before you get on the plane, the will decline allowing your pet to travel so it is in your best interest to get your pup used to the carrier ...

What causes a puppies eyes to be deep red?

They are not normally like this. He stays in his crate for more of the day till our dog run comes it. Tonight I went to take him out side to go potty and both his eyes are a deep red...almost like he got owies in them but neither my husband nor my self have any idea how it happened. Should I be concerned? Should I take him to the vet?

Is it red like blood or pink like irritation.
If you think he might have blood in his eyes, go immediately to a vet. There could be some genetic component making his blood vessels weak, or he could have been poisoned. If it looks like blood in his eyes, go immediately to a vet.
If it's pink, it could be irritated by any number of things. If he seems OK, and isn't showing any medical problems, I think it's OK to wait a day or so and watch him.
